Volunteer Opportunities

Travelers Aid Family Services of Philadelphia is enlisting volunteers to provide information and assistance to passengers and visitors at the 30th Street Amtrak Train Station. Volunteers will staff the Travelers Aid Family Services of Philadelphia Passengers Assistance Booth and serve as the City's Emissaries, welcoming travelers and newcomers to Philadelphia. Volunteers will provide visitors with information about the City, directions to attractions and points of interest, and general assistance in the case of an emergency.

Volunteers are being recruited to fill 2- to 4-hour shifts.

Initial Operating Hours

  • Monday-Friday: 9am to 5pm
  • Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 4pm

Qualifications

Volunteers must be energetic, outgoing, people oriented, and knowledgeable about the City of Philadelphia, and have strong verbal communication skills. Volunteers must complete a criminal background screening and child abuse clearance.

Training

Volunteers participate in a volunteer orientation session and ongoing training will be provided.
